We Need Your Help
WE CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU! Donations of any amount help Off the Rocks Rescue provide food, shelter, veterinary care, medicine, and transportation costs to get adoptable dogs and cats into their new homes. Help us to continue our life-saving work. Donations over $250 are tax deductible.
Your donation will be used to get another kitten or cat off the rocks (as the islands are called).
One of the reasons that animals can’t leave the USVI is because of the high costs of transporting them. Airlines charge between $100 and $200 for the transportation of 1-2 animals under 16 pounds in the cabin. We rarely transport cats under the plane via cargo: it is stressful for them and not allowed during times of low and high temperatures in Miami and Boston.
Your donation will be used toward the cost of medication, surgery, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV tests for all of our cats. We need your help to spay/neuter all of our cats: this is the cornerstone of prevention of animal overpopulation. Spay/neuter costs for us range from $30 to $150 per animal depending on whether they are fixed in the VI or in MA. Off the Rocks stands out for our commitment to pay for and complete the spay/neuter of all our cats prior to adoption. Your donations also help us to aid special needs cats who would otherwise be euthanized: on St. Thomas: we routinely pay for necessary surgeries such as amputations, teeth extractions and eye enucleations. In addition, all our cats require a veterinary health certificate of inspection both before leaving the VI and after being quarantined in MA. We depend on your donations to cover these costs.
Do you have a soft-sided carrier or a travel crate that you no longer need? Please contact us at email@example.com to arrange a time to drop off your used items.
Some of you love to shop! Feel free to send us some needed items. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and depending on the item, we can arrange for you to ship them to Wellesley MA or St. Thomas USVI. Bring your children shopping and then bring them over to OTR/MA in Wellesley for an informative and fun visit.
